My 3D2N Krabi trip with Shi ^_~ (by SingYing)

Formerly, before Chinese New Year was around the corner, I will just staying at home, busy helping my mother to clean up the whole house, make New Year cookies, decorate the house and so on. However, this year before Chinese New Year, I agreed to go for a short trip with my friend, Pei Shi, who is also my course mate, to have an early graduation trip. Both of us like seaside very much and the flight ticket to Thailand was cheap at that time, so we decided to fly to Krabi. It is one of the most spectacularly destinations in Thailand. It is home to white sandy beaches and coral reefs rich in marine life.

Due to our trip duration was short, once we reached Krabi, we quickly joined an "island tour" package at Ao Nang area which made a tour to four different islands by a speedboat with other foreign tourists. It was my first time to ride on a speedboat. This was way more fun that I anticipated. Initially, I did feel a bit dizzy and kind like wanted to vomit, but after a while I already got used to it. I like the big waves because it made me feel like I was on a ride or something. Lots of good sightseeing on the boats was fun.  The staff was very friendly and accommodation. We were like VIP and served with water and fruits on the boat. Besides that, we also got the opportunity to meet with new friends from other countries, such as Mr. and Mrs.Weld from Canada, Sue and her boyfriend from Bangkok, last but not least Chan Ming and Wei from China.

We had a great time during this tour. The tour last a little less than six hours which is plenty of time. Lots of time for taking pictures of the four islands, Koh Poda (Koh means island in Thai), Chicken Island, Tup Island and Railay Beach. We also snorkeling and swimming at Chicken Island and also had picnic lunch at there. The tour guide was fun and very knowledgeable and taught us many interesting things about the region and ecosystem.  There were lots of colorful different fish. We saw a small barracuda. We enjoyed the exercise, the beautiful sea creatures, the water and our guide.

Chicken Island (it does look like a chicken head, right?)
Snorkeling time
Other than the island tour, snorkeling and swimming, another attractions of Krabi for Shi and I is the food at there! We love to eat those delicious authentic Thai foods which are located along the stretch of road from the hotel to the beach.

Tomyam Gung , PadThai and green curry chicken
assorted grilled food choices-- just 50 baht per stick
Besides visited around Ao Nang beach area, we also went to Krabi town and stayed a night at there on day 2. Krabi town is a small city which has no beaches but what we prefer most is, it is far cheaper than any of the tourist resorts – this is reflected in the price of food and drinks especially, such as the Vogue department store where real items can be found cheaper than in Ao Nang. There are four regular markets in Krabi town that are worth a look. However, we just managed to visit two of it because we did not have enough time. One of the market we visited is City Market, is probably the most prominent market in Krabi Town. You will most likely just come across it wandering around without even specially seeking it out. We found a lot of prepared food at the city market. Rows of serving dishes filled with all kinds of fragrant curries and other local specialties.
all kinds of variant curries
spring rolls
colourful, fragrant and very tasty fresh fruit
Shi was happy with the tasty snacks
For our dinner at Krabi town, we went to another night market. This is the place to go for eating freshly prepared Thai food. It is located at Chao Fa Pier by the riverside. The night food market starts around 6pm and is open until 11 or midnight. In the afternoon vendors start setting up their stalls on wheels and small tables with plastic stools for customers. It was lucky we did not be fooled by the low-key setup, we did find some most amazing meals here.

This fried rice was very tasty and cheap
Although these 3 days 2 nights of Krabi trip was short, but we are indeed charmed enough by the friendly people, delicious food and the beautiful island scenery. We do enjoyed ourselves very much at there. It really has given both of us a memorable memory to keep after we have graduated.
